For a long time, I always felt like I never fit in. What worked for others never worked for me, and I went into this endless cycle of frustration and guilt. Because of my ADHD.
And thatâs when I came across Chris Porter, this amazing soul who wanted to work specifically with ADHD entrepreneurs. To make them thrive, feel they belonged, and more.
Heâs recently started his newsletter, which is mindblowing! I canât wait for all of you to read it!

A guest post by Hayden Flohr, a fantabulous friend, passionate about taking your coaching business to the next level!
âJust send them a DM!â
How annoying is that advice?
Want to help someone? Just send them a DM!
Want to close your first client? Just send them a DM!
Want to make friends online? Just send them a DM!
As a strategy coach, I love a good playbook - trust me.
But Iâm also acutely aware that the only business strategy that works is the one:
Thatâs aligned with you
That you execute 100% of the time
Whether you want to admit it or not, weâre all different. We have different attachment styles, communication styles, love languages, desires, strengths, weaknesses, crafts, and whys.Â
As a business coach, I spend less time coaching the âthingâ (strategy) and more time coaching the energy AROUND the âthing.âÂ
You could send 200 cold DMs every single day, hoping that one lands... But the ROI is disproportionately sickening.Â
So, whatâs the answer?
A better strategy?
Or better energy around the strategy?
How about both? Todayâs coaching manifesto will help you take your business to the next level by turning followers into super-friends (and clients).
The best part?
Itâs going to feel a helluva lot better than whatever youâre doing right now.Â
Letâs dive in.Â
The most successful business owners see their business as a calling, not just a profession.Â
And that intention translates into the potency of their connections (or lack thereof).
â Transactional vs TrancendentalÂ
Youâre all Shruthiâs faithful fans, which means you have access to her stellar DM Toolkit. Now itâs time to peel back the layers and understand why your DMs arenât converting, why certain people blow you off, or why you donât have awesome relationships online.Â
This methodical manifesto is one that you can inject into every single aspect of your business: sales, coaching, and even content writing. Iâm going to get a little âwooâ on you today because your current strategy isnât working.Â
Take this manifesto and fly (if youâre brave enough to build your business YOUR Way).
Power of Intention
You might think you believe in the power of intention, but the real question is:
Do you practice it? How?
Dr. Wayne Dyer (the OG American Spiritual Guru) says, âMost peopleâs mistake in trying to apply the law of attraction is they want things; they demand things. But {whatever higher power you believe in} doesnât work that way. Itâs all about allowing.â
Truth be told, the intention behind your âstrategyâ speaks louder than your actual strategy.Â
Poor strategy and/or intentions will cause you to connect with the wrong people, send the wrong messages, and pop off the wrong offers.
How often do you message someone freely? No expectations, no ulterior motivesâŠ
How often do you message someone with the intention of being open to opportunity (regardless if itâs different than what you had in your head)?
Your subconscious is constantly working on its own agenda and setting its own intentions.Â
Itâs important to pay attention to where youâre acting from fear or from necessity.Â
We subconsciously fear being rejected.Â
We subconsciously need something from our network.Â
Start journaling about the way networking/cold connections make you feel.
Who do you send DMs to? Why?
Where do you feel it in your body?
How do you want the people receiving your messages to feel?
If you DO want something from them, how do you want them to respond/feel to your message?
I flexed the power of intentions the first time I messaged Shruthi.Â
Had I gone in with anything other than what I did, we might not be amazing friends today and have a referral pipeline between our two businesses.Â
Law of Reciprocity
Once you understand which subconscious intentions are affecting your strategy, your ânetworking auraâ shifts from closed-off/demanding to open/available.Â
Every relationship online plays a different role in your life + business. As a business owner with an impact statement, your job is to:
Be open to the unique potential of each relationship
Invest your time and energy in the right people
Here, you get another opportunity to shine.Â
As social creatures, weâre hardwired to want to repay what we get from others. But as business owners with blind intentions (that operate mostly out of fear), we lose sight of what makes humans so loving and responsive.
Your networking relationships must exist outside of the DMs.
How willing are you to share your friendâs work?
How willing are you to give away your best secrets?
How willing are you to support someone (in a way that honors you) without expecting something in return?
Moral of the Story:
Find ways to support your connections outside of the DMs.Â
Theyâll thank you (and market your business).
Law of Need
And lastly, the Law of Need states that the more you need something, the less likely you will get it.Â
Itâs a fact of life thatâs impossible to avoid:
Desperate businesses and strategiesâŠfail.Â
I could spend a newsletter (or 12) talking about the Law of Need, but I urge you to take a magnifying glass to your business and begin seeing where the energy of necessity is driving what you *think you should be doing*.
Itâs ironic how we have access to more people than ever, yet most businesses are crushed by a lack of visibility and network.Â
Iâm here to remind you that you are the captain AND the map for your business.Â
A map can lead a captain, but a captain canât lead a map.Â
Turn your eyes to your unique journey, and I promise you wonât get lost.Â
TL;DR
Power of Intentions
